Is it normal that my jaw is like this?

So about 1,5 months ago the left side of my jaw started locking every time i opened my mouth, it was annoying but didnt hurt so i thought itd be over in a week or so. But then about a month later (2 weeks ago) the other side of my jaw started to hurt when i opened my mouth. My left side still locked every single time i opened my mouth. The pain has gotten a lot better but i still cant open my mouth as far as i used to because it hurts. I went to the doctor and he took pictures and stuff but didnt see anything abnormal. To this day my jaw still locks and hurts, INN?

It's called TMJ, I have it too. Mine started last Thanksgiving when I ate ground beef for a few days. There are Exercises for curing TMJ Online that you can print out.

    Yes and no.

It's not normal in the sense that the average person's jaw should not do this.

However, it is normal in that it's actually a very common condition. Charle44 hit it right on the nose. You probably have TMJ.

Instead of just medicating yourself, I do recommend seeing a doctor, as they may be able to provide specific treatment to your case.

TMJ. Very common, but dentists sometimes miss it. There's a good article about it on Web MD. Mostly, ibuprfen and relaxing the jaw muscles.

Mine does this sometimes. Then again, I did break it when I was in middle school…

Mine did that for a while on and off for about 6 months but it eventually went away
