So is it normal that my husband not just wants to watch me change my tampon during my next period, but also wants me to let him change my tampon after watching me? He said that it would be a really big turn on for him if I said yes
Not normal but it's not a big deal, is it? Better than a guy who freaks out over a normal bodily function.
Well since enough people asked about it I'll go ahead and post a full update.
Later that night my husband was giving me a foot rub and I looked at him and with a smile I said "I really hope you paid attention earlier because now it's your turn".
While he was washing his hands I got the towel spread out on the bed and stripped from the waist down. I got semi situated on the towel and a couple pillows under my shoulders and once my husband was comfortable I got my feet on either side of him and asked what he wanted to do first. He opted for removing the old liner first and once it was out and he rolled it up he tossed it in the trash.
I could tell he was rather nervous at that point so I offered to let him watch a second time but after being reassured that the string probably won't break and he won't hurt me he said OK I'm ready. He grabbed some toilet paper I already had ready for him and before he knew it the tampon was out. He was kind of amazed by how much it expanded and that I couldn't feel it, but I explained that the nerve endings aren't as sensitive where the tampon is in me. When he started to move I lifted my leg so he could get up and he went into our bathroom and flushed everything then washed his hands again.
Once he was back in his spot he tore open the wrapper and got the new tampon out and asked if he had to do anything to get the applicator ready. I said nope and once he had it held so he was comfortable he spread my labia and inserted the applicator then used the inner applicator to finish. As soon as he said OK I think I did that right, I said for the most part. I explained that it wasn't in far enough so he would have to remove it and try again.
The second try he got the tampon in deep enough and even used the baby wipe I had gotten to clean me up. He then got the new liner in my underwear but it was at an angle so he tried a second time and got it in place.
Once we were both in bed I told him that he is more than welcome to help me out or just watch whenever he wants :-D I haven't seen that man smile like that since our son was born.

Honestly it only came off as a shock and kinda weird because not many guys I know are even remotely interested in periods coupled with it usually being a rather private thing.
Yeah, a lot of people are squeamish about it, perhaps it's because of the blood, but I never understood what the big deal was. For me it's a real turn off if a guy is super grossed out about menstrual blood, farting or leaving the bathroom door open, but my guy and I pop each other zits so...
My guy was medic in the Army for a couple of years so he's not grossed out too easily. He's not über nasty or anything, but he isn't squeamish. I just know I would be pissed off as Hell if if I were single again and met some douchebag who was grossed out by menstruation, but interested in anal sex. Honestly I'd assume such a guy was probably a latent homosexual, not that there's anything wrong with being gay, because there isn't; but I have no tolerance for so-called straight men who are uncomfortable with the bodily functions of women.
Every person has different fetishes and turn ons. So I can't really say it's normal or not normal. It's up to you if you want to let him or not.
If I came off as being against him having a fetish that's not the case. Both of his fetishes, that I knew about came to light within the first 6 months of us dating. What has me kinda off about this is this coming up after 9 months of dating, a 6 month engagement and 4 years of marriage all without a single hint of an interest in my period.
Now you figure I have had my period every 29 days, for 6 days at a time, minus 1 pregnancy. You can do the math on how many times I had my period since we started dating. That's why this all caught me off guard and had me asking.
Accepting him and myself already happened the first time I found out just how much fun it is to stroke him off using just my feet, or how much I enjoy him kissing my feet or sucking on my toes and admiring my weekly pedi while he's in me, or the daily foot rubs without even having to ask after our son goes to bed since Im wearing heels all day at work. Or better yet discovering that him peeing in me, or me on him while he's in me almost instantly makes me cum.
While I know that it's a natural function it's just something about a guy wanting anything to do with my period, especially with how heavy it is, that just seems odd to me I guess.

Actually we kinda did that today and it really cleared up a lot around it, and how it was more curiosity about the entire menstruation thing.

I am 61 years old and have been fascinated with this topic of menstration and the private woman's world surrounding it .
I guess because it is universally a woman's most private and personal time ,that men are excluded from being any part of .
It can't be real abnormal, because many many years ago there was a video series of woman and the secret sanitary rituals . With tampons and pads , douches etc.
I was able to be in bathroom with a girlfriend when I was 19 and she didnt mind me watching , but never helping
