Is it normal that my husband calls his mom 'babe', 'hunny bunny' etc

I don't think it's normal. The only thing I can think of is that he is trying to make her feel better by calling her gorgeous. It does creep me out that he's calling her babe and hunny bunny

You should visit him at his office. He probably calls his Boss those names too...

Maybe he's just affectionate to you both and so using the same names for her. I don't know, sounds like he's after his inheritence!!

Anyhow, my son tells me off for confusing him with my husband's name. But, he's just grown so tall - I must stop feeding him ;)

Is he saying this in person with her or over the phone??? If it's a phone conversation and he tells you it's his mother on the other line, maybe it's actually another female. If he calls her those things in front of you both that's too creepy!!!

I think it is. I have a friend who calls every girl 'honey' and 'babe' and things like that. Some people just think of nicknames differently. To your husband he may see those nicknames as things to call females he is close with, not as a lover's nickname. I even had a driver's ed sub who called me honey. Trust me he wasn't into me. But I do think your jealously is normal if you think of those nicknames are for lovers. Try talking to him about it.

Yes, she is his birth mother! I have spoken to my husband about it since posting on here - and he did agree and said he wouldn't do it anymore! So thanks for everyones opinion, I wanted to make sure I wasn't being unreasonable before I said anything!

Well, we've been together for 14 years and he never called her those names, only mommy and darling which i haven't got a problem with as i find it endearing. It's just why he has started the past couple of years - they are loving names he uses for me, I wouldn't use them on my dad! Like sleeping beauty said, there's a line and he's crossing it!

I don't think there's anything wrong with it, he loves his mum and that's a quality in a guy that i'd look for it's an indication of how he'll treat you. Have you ever considered that maybe that's they're "thing" ? don't be pissed it's not inappropriate in the least bit.

Not normal at all and very creepy. Those names should ONLY be names that you use to call your spouse. That's too weird for words.... What does his "mother" think? I think it's even stranger that she hasn't gotten him to stop and that it has been going on for so long.
