Is it normal that my hands hurt when i'm sad?

So when I'm really sad my hand hurt to high heavens and I have to dig my nails into my hand. Is this normal at all???

    Maybe it's some nervous pain related to a release of adrenaline when you feel overly emotional?

    I don't think digging your nails into your hands will stop them hurting...

    Try morphine.
