Is it normal that my hair takes color very well?

I recently went to get blue streaks in my hair for the summer at the hair salon that I always go to. But when the lady was rinsing out the dye, it turned the ends of the non blue pieces a turquoise green color. She had to dye my hair back then really apply the blue. Does anyone know why this happened. All she said was that I had strong hair that takes color in really well.

P.S My hair is very coarse and blonde.

  • I think this is normal.. Mine does this too. I think it has to do with the texture/thickness of the hair. (mine is coarse as well)

If it was temp or semi-perm. then leftover colour after rinsing is undesirable but means your hair's healthy (healthy hair absorbs, brittle can't).
I've been colouring my hair with permeant for over six years, every Colour of the rainbow, traces always stay in.
She shouldn't have redued your hair though. Dying out a colour, and dying just-dyed (within 3days) hair is catastrophic for your hair's health. She shod be using a toner for light colours (ginger, yellow, red), and a stripper for dark colours.

If it took color very well then why did she need to do it twice?
