Is it normal that my hair dye is bleeding out of my hair?

ok this has never happened to me and its my first time dying my hair red violet. Every time when I shower the color fades away. is this normal and why it happens? Also, if its fading away how many times do I start coloring my hair?

  • Reds do that, it's normal. Use a gentle shampoo made for coloured hair, and a conditioner that will help boost the red; Aveda makes a really nice smelling one.

totally normal. you can pick up some color booster for in between dye jobs. you could also try a semi-permanent dye or even taking a bit of semi-permanent and mixing it in with your conditioner.

I have a reddy violet colour in my hair and it does it every time I wash it, I also get it done at a salon so it's not cheap either, reds are notorious for washing out quickly, but I find they also look nice when kind of faded.
