Is it normal that my girlfriend peels my sunburned skin?

I went on a cruise vacation recently and got pretty badly sunburned all over my back and shoulders. When I got back home, these areas of my body were in full on peeling mode.

I showed my girlfriend and we ended up sitting on a couch watching tv while she peeled my skin. It felt great, and we both enjoyed it a lot. She got a piece of skin off my back that was the size of a silver dollar

Is this normal?

    Then it's okay. Birds preen each others feathers, monkeys pick through each others fur, and cats lick one another; We're animals too. It's an affectionate thing, and she probably feels bad that you got hurt, in a way.

    0_0 that's not really good for your skin, I recommend you don't get sunburnt.

    It's not normal for your skin. In fact, it's quite bad and can lead to scarring. The best thing for a sunburn is to stay moisturized with vitamin e cream or aloe vera, and re-hydrate yourself. Depending on the degree of burn, peeling could also lead to infection as the new skin is exposed before it's ready.

    Whether it's normal for your relationship or not is up to you. I personally would never do that to a partner or let them do that to me, and I'd probably be mortified if I saw my friends doing it.
