Is it normal that my gf and i both wear dresses ? ( lesbians )

I love my gf. :) we've been together for 2 years. The only problem comes when we are out. I'm awkwardly questioned... "Who's the boy"? we usually respond with humor . When asked we both raise our hand and say "I am" . We both came out to our friends and family a year ago and ever since we've been grilled with these "risky" questions. Im not sure what the problem is really, we're both girls and we both wear dresses ...why is it so odd ? Even with some of my gay friends . Any thoughts?

I had no idea that there was a rule of dress for gay people. It's perfectly fine that you both wear dresses. Just like it would be perfectly fine if you both wore pants.

Last time I checked there's no official dress code for lesbians.

Tell them that next time you get stupid questions. :)

Perfectly normal. I think girls who don't like to wear dresses are weird.

Well generally relationships will have the more leading figure and more gentle one. This goes for straight and gay couples. Generally people will think of the boy as the tomboy/butch in these type of relationship. Also no I am not saying butch is tomboy is the same thing. However you and your girlfriend sound like you both are very feminine. So these roles are not so obvious to the public. Though that being said your question is as absurd as asking "Is it normal I am a female that likes pink?" Since pink has always been defined as something women like. So liking dresses is something that is considered normal for most women. Another way to put this is the man pays for everything and the female cooks and cleans. Being lesbian does not mean that one of you has to be super boyish or anything. A lot of people also believe partnerships should be equal. I think this is a great example of that.

You should not feel obligated to dress down since you are lesbians. It is your choice to wear what you enjoy wearing. Anyone who is upset since they think you looked too pretty and lead them on are jerk-offs. So just ignore that type of behaviour. Besides its not like you cant want to look pretty for your partner or other women.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

Sorry allow me to explain. In the past i have seen guys trip over themselves only to get shot down because the girls were lesbians and those dresses they wore oof.

You're worried about the wrong aspect of the story.

2 girls both wearing dresses is the ONLY normal part of that story.
