Is it normal that my friends start to like the guys i like?

Ok whenever i like a guy, my friends start to like him. And heres the problem, before i tell them who i like or go out with, i ask them how they think of the guy they're like "ugh him no one would even go out with him" then after they say that I say that i go out with him. then after a few days they're like "omg your boyfriend is soooo hot! your the luckiest woman in the world!" is this normal or are they being as fake as immitation meat?
