Is it normal that my friend won't get over his ex?

My friend has been dumped by this girl that is younger and more immature than he is but he won't get over her. He thinks its ok to still hang out with her but I know it is just because he secretly hopes she will get back together with him. I know she never will because he is almost thirty and has never had a real job in his life. The guy is a loser but he is still my friend. How do I tell him to move on and is it normal for someone to obsess over a girl that dumped you?

    Well I'm not over my ex and I will never be. Just make sure it doesn't get serious like I got anxiety over my ex from just missing him and constantly thinking of him. Just make sure he's happy and dont say things like 'omg I saw her flirting with someone' k x
