Is it normal that my friend watches porn for the shitty story plots?

My friend used to watch porn a lot (he does some now, but a little) when he was around 12-ish. But he didn't watch to get turned on or anything, just to laugh at the horrible storylines, dialogue and plot. I know he's not lying, I've known him for years. Now he mainly watches to feel good.

When u guys were around 11-12ish, did you also not watch porn for the fucking, but for the plots?
