Is it normal that my friend wanted me to cry?

Well I was sleeping over at my best friends house and as usual we got into a conversation about our feelings. However, this time we started to discuss me and he told me to tell him about what types of parents i have, they're bad parents btw. The only reason he asked was because I've been sad lately and he showed me a diagram that shows what type of parents i have. I then started to cry because even his diagram saw that I had bad parents. He told me that it's good to cry, to i let it all out. He's a good friend but I just want to know how common is it for a guy to cry in front of another guy?

    Wether your a guy crying to a guy, girl crying to a guy, guy crying to a girl. He's clearly a close friend who is reassuring you it's ok - its what friends do.

    Hell yes! Completely normal. You are truly lucky to have a friend. As great as him. Clearly you have a tough life. And I am very sorry to hear that but your friend is right that it's good to cry. Don't worry. If he's as true as you say hr is, he won't lose any respect. Hr may acctually gain some by seeing how you feel.

      Well it was just a diagram that showed different types of parenting and the result of a child who's parents were like that. According to the diagram I'm a rare person for the types of parents I've had. Although I'm pretty sure I'm not.
