Is it normal that my friend is calling me for no reason?

I have a friend that sometimes calling me to tell me the dumbest things, yesterday for example he called me just to tell me he downloaded the new episode of a tv show.

Usually I ignore his calls and he just keeps calling like 6 or 7 times until he gives up...

And sometimes it gets even more annoying when he calls and say my name with this annoying voice. instead of "John" he says "Jooohn" like in slow motion. and I hate it... especially when im not alone and the other person with me might hear it through the phone

    You need to find a way to tell him! I feel bad that he has no idea how annoying he is. You probably are doing something to make him comfortable enough to do this, which is great, but it is not fair that you are essentially lying to him by making him think his behavior is acceptable.

    I'd hang up on my best friend, and she'd call right back like I never did. Sometimes we'd just watch TV together...over the phone, because we were *that* bored.

    Yeah, I hate that. I used to have friend that called me all the time. Sometimes, you just have to make up excuses to get off the phone.
