Is it normal that my family irritates me?

I'm 20. I study quite far from my parents so I hardly see them during the year, but when the time comes for me to go home (like holidays) I hardly do. That's because I don't feel at home when I'm at home. Everytime I'm home I get irritated at my mom bossing me around, my dad haven't nothing to say except when something is wrong, my brother being sad for no reason (which kinda reflects me) and me not knowing why I find all of this irritating just irritates me. Is it normal that my fam irritates me?

Feeling a little irritation at your family when you're around them for too long is totally normal. It's nature's way of telling you that you're an adult who's ready to leave the nest and fly alone. It'd actually be less normal if you wanted to move back home every time you visited.

By the way, congratulations on building a pretty good life for yourself so far. If you weren't so happy on your own, you wouldn't feel so chafed with your family. :)

My Mom and sister don't bother me, but the rest of my family does. Quit drinking and smoking and for fuck's sakes, quit treating unplanned pregnancy like an inevitability and get some damned birth control!

Yup. It's normal. You're at college and can make your own decisions and then go home and lose that ability to some extent. It's natural to be a little bit stressed about that.
