Is it normal that my family hates me?

Well when i was 10 i revealed imwas athiest and my parents beat the heck out of me... child services came and took me away but my parents got me back. then they beat the heck out of me more and more till i lied and said i was christian (i was 15 when i lied) but now i got a step mother since my bitch of a real mother died in a car accident. my father dosnt beat me any more but he still hates me. my step mother punchs me in the face every time i come over to visit. im still athiest and i will never change. my siblings also hate me for it. im not saying god has to be fake. im just saying in my eyes there isnt one. you can all love god if you want just please dont preech about him and tell every one to love him.

        Oh, ok, I take it you're the OP? I was assuming you were younger. In that case, I really think you should consider cutting these people out of your life. You're an adult now, and you don't have to put up with this abuse anymore.

            Loving them doesn't have anything to do with it. You need to take care of yourself, and spending time with people who abuse you is no good. You can try to get them to go to group therapy with you if you really want to work things out, but if they refuse or it doesn't work, I think you should stop seeing them. You shouldn't put yourself in danger for a family that hurts you.

    they sound like realy bad people to me, I'm sorry for you and I hope now that you don't live with them you can be an atheist freely. christianity usualy praches forgiveness and kindness so I find you familys behavior unusual. so mabe show them you are more christ like and not just a chirstian like them.
    don't listen to them. they are not just closed minded people, but also unforgiving and cruel if they are against even their son and abused him for it.
    as an atheist I am fully suportive of you.

    I'm an atheist, but if I believed in Hell, I'd personally kill them, commit suicide, push my way past St. Peter, kick their fat asses into the pits of Hell, then when I got sent to Hell, continue beating the crap out of them while on fire.

    I don't know whether God exists and quite frankly I don't care, it's irrelevant to anything that happens in life.

    The Christian ideal is supposed to be following the example and teachings of Jesus. Jesus lead a life of charity, forgiveness and peace, yet the Christian establishment is miserly, and promotes punishment and violence towards those it classes as "sinners". Jesus said "Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself" yet the Christian establishment supports discrimination but complains whenever it is targeted!

    I've seen Christianity have a good impact so it saddens me that your family can do such things to you and still call themselves Christian.

    I sincerely hope that you can get out of your awful situation.

    Being a Christian is supposed to be about being nice to one another. It's supposed to make life easier and more enjoyable for us all.
    I'll never understand why so many "Christians" manage to forget that.

    In honest words, I am saddened that the people designated to guide you have put you through such hardship. A choice of atheism does not justify your parents actions. I also think a 10 or 15 year old still has a long ways to develop in beliefs. And, I really hope and pray that your parents actions won't destroy your potential to develop into a caring person of morals, values, and beliefs. I am very sorry.

    If you seek or need any advice, I will leave you with the following. If you are close with an honest and respectable adult, then I think that you should go and sincerely ask them for help.
