No one in my family shares any interests or has the same tastes and if anyone want's to do anything everyone wont's to do the opposite and it seems they do it out of spite most of the time. Being in this family is like being in prison.
Honestly, it sounds a lot like my family. So to me, it is pretty normal because I live with it. But most other families seem a lot more functional.. Just live with it the best you can.
Same here I never leave my room, within 3 minutes somebody stars an argument with me for something.
that's too sad we had such a similar time in my family but not all the time just a little period we go through from time to time
It's easy to say you have to break free but I have tried. In situations like mine you realize how dependent on family you are and how that can be a good thing and a bad thing.
I would say this dynamic is normal, just because the saying goes, "blood is thicker than water," doesn't always mean that it is always true. My family seems to have the same thing going on, but at a lower scale. Maybe you can try to talk to different members about it and see what they think?
