Is it normal that my eyes become red when i'm up late?

When I stay up late, at around 5:00 in the morning, my eyes start to become very red. Later, when I wake up in the morning, my eyes are fine. is it normal for this to happen?

    I get this too. It happens around 7pm every night which is really annoying. I use eye drops to make them white again when I go out otherwise I just look ugly and stoned. Even if I get tired at work it happens to me at work around lunch time and my boss thinks I'm high too.

    Oh my god! I get this too!! everyone always assumes I'm high. But the one time I stayed over at a friends house she watched my eyes get progressively more red.. It really freaked her out. I'm just use to it...really annoying though.
