Is it normal that my eyes are still puffy 3 days after crying?

I was really upset Wednesday night and Thursday night. So obvious my eyes would be puffy on Friday, but they were still puffy on Saturday when I woke up. It went down a bit throughout the day and it wasn't as noticeable. Sunday afternoon when I woke up my eyes were really puffy again and stayed like that all day, even though I had not been crying. I tried everything from ice, cold spoons, damp cloth and washing my face with cold water, but nothing made it go away. Now today, Monday morning my eyes are really puffy and a little itchy. IIN? Should I call my regular doctor or eye doctor?

Boil some water and put two chamomile tea bags in. Put them in just enough to soak through, then take the tea age out and let them cool only slightly. Lay down on the couch or bed and place the tea age on your eyes. They should go down. This is what my grandma used to fix my eyes from conjunctivitis or other irritations when I was a kid. Chamomile has amazing natural healing qualities.

I think shackleford has the right of it. Sounds like you are crying a lot in your sleep. Do you dream about whatever it is that made you so unhappy?

  • That happens to me also if I cry too much. It will go away eventually even though it sound like you've really irritated them this time, just give it a few more days. Maybe even take an antihistamine in case it's just allergies (it's that time of year).
