Is it normal that my exbf wants to video chat with me so bad?

My first BF (my ex of 3 years) who has had quite a lineup of girlfriends after me, and currently has one, recently has been pestering me to get Skype, or any means of video chatting.
I asked him why and he said just because it's fun. But I think it's a little strange that he wants to video chat with his exGF... I mean he's the one that brought it up to me and told me to download it in the first place. I'd be fine just going on AIM but he really wants to video chat.

I just feel like if I was his GF and I found out he kept asking his EX to video chat with him, and that HE was the one who initiated it in the first place, I'd get a little angry at that. He keeps insisting that he doesnt mean anything by it but I just dont know if I feel comfortable video chatting my EX while he has a GF...
is it normal he wants to video chat me?
(Or am I just weird for thinking its weird...)

    its because he is bored with his current girlfriend, she wont bone him so he wants to watch you and wack off.

    Same thing happened to me. I thought he changed, and lost respect for him when he goes around wanting to do that. Think about his current gf :/

    I don't see anything wrong with a friendly video chat. If you live rather far from the person it can be a good way to keep in touch and see the other person who you may not have in a long time. The only time it would not be appropriate is if he tried to turn the friendly chat into something else, which is what you'd need to watch out for. As for the girlfriend as long as he's not keeping his friendship with you in the closet then I don't see why she should be bothered. It's not as if he's spending more time talking to you than to her.
