Is it normal that my ex-boyfriend wants me to date his best friend?

Ok, so a couple of weeks ago, my boyfriend broke up with me. I didn't react badly, it was expected since he doesn't like commitment much. But his best friend (who's also my friend) kept flirting with me and absolutely obsessing over me all throughout my ex and i's relationship. Now that we've broken up, my ex keeps telling me I should go out with the friend...and I feel obligated because I don't want to hurt him. Is this a normal thing for a guy to play matchmaker? Is it normal that i feel obligated to go out with my friend because of my ex's pressure? Advice needed!

Um, sounds normal to me. Maybe he thinks you're hurting inside and wants to help out? What if his friend really does like you?!

Well, if you have major doubts about him then of course just move on and find someone new.

This sounds so fishy. I'm sure he told him you're great in bed and It aint no fun if the homies can't have none. Don't feel obligated to do anything you don't want to. They're playing you so just leave them both alone. Especially if you're in high school... That's the number 1 trick guys play on girls in high school

I don't know about that. This exact situation happened to me. Boyfriend who didn't really want a girlfriend, and his flirty best friend. The ex-boyfriend used to always tell me to date his friend. That was a couple years ago, I live with the friend now and we have been together about a year and a half. One thing that's kind of awkward is hanging out in a group though. Even though the ex told me to date his friend, he doesn't really seem to like that it's actually happening.

Sounds massively abnormal, he is probably saying this simply to try and sound like he's completely fine with. Like all guys he doesn't want to appear emotionally compromised.
