Is it normal that my dreams are always silent?

They not only lack dialogue, they lack all background noise, sound effects, ect. I am not hearing impaired, and there is nothing wrong with my ability to process sound.

    When I think of my dreams I cannot recall any sound... I never thought of that!

    My dreams are all so different, but I have had silent dreams. What I really hate is when I have black and white dreams. It's like, WTF, what happened to the color?
