When I was younger, until I was about twelve, my dad used to kiss me on the neck. It was usually little pecks, and I know he didn't mean anything by it, but they always left me feeling tingly and weird. Now that I'm older, thinking back on it and how it felt, I realized I was getting stimulated by it. Is it normal for a child to get kissed in places like their neck? And to react like that?

    Yes, it is normal. The neck is a very sensitive area. And if you believe Freud, you father is the basis for your future romantic relationships. Then those tender moments where your father playfully pecked your neck became associated with intimate love.

    kissing on the neck is sexual lets not kid ourselves, if a dad is kissing his siblings on the neck it is very wrong and is a sexual act

    Kisses are just a sign of affection; some cultures even have parents peck kids on the lips. Your dad was probably just showing affection differently by pecking your neck. Could've been playful teasing.

    As for the stimulation part, it is normal because the neck is just a sensitive spot. The body is quicker to react to any sensations there.

        North America and Europe generally consider kissing on the lips romantic and inappropriate for a family setting. South Africa and areas in Asia usually consider it normal.

        There's some articles on it, but I don't really remember the statistics.

          Uhm...a peck, and I stress peck, on the lips is quite common in America and I'm fairly certain Europe is no different.
