my dad has been in and out of my life since i was born and i gradually lost contact with him, recently he got back in contact full of promises and stupidly i believed him however when he came round my house it was soon clear he only wanted what he could get out of me, when i asked him to stay and wait for 15 minutes for his grandchildren that he had never seen to come home he replied he had to get home urgently, he left and i later found out he went to visit a cousin of mine nearby. is this normal

      he likes cannabis, he used to drink but stopped as he got violent when drunk.
