Is it normal that my dad believes in transinvestigations crap?

For awhile my dad has been getting more and more delusional he believes that there are transgenders everywhere and I mean everywhere. He is also being into conspiracy theories and gets butthurt if I try to give a logical explanation for something I mean he will literally shut down like a child if I don't agree with him. He tells me that I should research into it more and that I'll see the truth and I'm getting sick of it he constantly watches ancient aliens as if it's gospel and has began to have some crazy ideas. He thinks that because he his older then me he has a better grasp of how the world works and gets randomly mad if I give a counter point I'm nice enough not to out right say that it's bullshit and there is t enough evidence to back up the claims he believes in. Dose anyone else have this issue with a family member who is fanatical in the belief of things that don't have any real merit or truth?

Yes(for anyone who is as delusional as my dad) 8

      • How am I being delusional when I don't believe in conspiracy theories?

I know. I just find it ironic that the O.P calling others delusional, suffers from delusions of always being right themselves.

        • So I'm delusional because i don't believe in insane conspiracy theories like 911 being a inside job or lizard people or that every First Lady is or was a transgender?

I see no point in arguing with someone who's mind is set.

My dad thinks the same thing about rapists, that they're everywhere. That random at the bus stop, rapist.
Even if he is delusional, he's right in researching everything. Not everything is a conspiracy but you should always research things for yourself before coming to any conclusion.

There is no point in telling him he's being delusional. All you can do is just ignore him, smile and nod along. If things get really bad and you're concerned for his safety, or other people's, at that point call emergency services.

Sorry your dad is cuckoo. Crazy parents are no fun.

There's no point in arguing with delusional people: you need to detach from him and stop wasting your energy.

I'd take you seriously if you wouldn't up these ridiculous voting options.

Either agree with you or we're dillusional? That's not really asking for opinions. That's asking for confirmation.

    • Unless you believe in insane conspiracy theories that shouldn't be a problem.
