Is it normal that my brother never follows through with what he says?

Since I was little my brother has never gone through with promises. But now that we're older, the things hes not going through with are more important, and whenever I ask him about them he starts screaming at me. We've never had a good relationship, but when i promise to do something for him, I do it. Its not that hes busy, he hasn't done anything but lay around since he got home from college.

Is it normal or common for people to never do what they say they will?

    God help him if he ever becomes a parent! His kids will not respect him if he's full of it.

    Did you try to motivate him? Like say "hey you said you were going to ____, have you managed to do it?" in a nice tone. And not in a nagging way- because trust me that never works. There are things he needs to do for his own good, sometimes people need to realize it themselves without anyone pushing. When someone is constanly nagging and hounding you for something, or even putting you down because you haven't done something, it makes you not want to do it. Even if you know it's for your own good and necessary (whatever the task is), someone incorrectly motivating you isn't going to make you do shit. It feels like pressure.
    Oh and it's normal, he's probably a severe procrastinator!

      I've been trying that my whole life,because I'm not a very aggressive person, I can't just yell at people or put them down. But whenever i remind him to do whatever it is, he doesn't do anything. He'll just say "uh huh. I'll do it later" or start yelling at me or something.

      Thanks though, at least i know its normal :P
