Is it normal that my brother gets treated better than me?

Whenever something has to get done in the house everyone makes me do it. I have to water all the plants. We have a lot of plants. It takes me half an hour to water them all and i have to do it every 3 days. I also have to do the laundry every day. And i need to pick fruit from our garden every day too. My older brother always gets everything better. He has an iphone, ipod, computer, ps1, gameboy, gamecube and xbox360. All i have is an ipod. Im forced to go on boring family trips that are at least a 3 hour drive away from here. He doesnt have to go. My parents say its because hes old enough to stay home alone buy hes been staying home alone since he was younger than me. One time he had a party and when we came home things were broken and it was a mess. He didnt get in trouble. Im grounded whenever i dont do my chores or even if i dont answer my phone. Hes allowed to go out with his friends whenever he wants and no one cares if he comes back at 6am. Hes allowed to take money from my wallet whenever he wants and my parents make me give it to him. Everyone keeps making me promises but they never happen. My parents say hes going to europe as a punishment. Ive been depressed for a long time

    Parents don’t love equally, I have two other siblings and they have been favored over me for years. My brother treated me mean my whole life, and one day at the age of 45 he disrespected me for the last time. I got out of my car and beat the living crap out of him; I also told him he had this coming for 40 years. He went to the police, and had me charged!! Now none of my family talks to me. Was it worth it? Hell yeah

      Thats awesome. Seriously i wish i had the guts to do that. My brother is one of the most nastiest evil people i have ever known in my life. I guarantee though one day someone will punch my brothers lights out & i will giggle til i black out :) good on you for sticking up for yourself i would be proud if i had the balls but knowing my brother he'd hit me back & seriously hurt me. He's a coward & can only hurt women or kids

    I get treated better by my parents than my younger sister. Then again, I don't swear at them and give them attitude for no reason. Are you a female by any chance? If so, I'm sure your parents are only doing this because you're a girl. If not, I just think they favour him over you which is something horrible to do to your own kids. I know it's really unfair to you and I'm almost 100% sure it will not change but just remember once you get out of your parents house, you can do whatever you want. They won't control your life as they do now.

    There is a difference between whining and true favoritism. Sometimes you can't tell. I would recommend making a list, and then give it to your parents. If they care, they will get it.

    My husband (eldest of 3 kids) gets treated different than them, his brother still lives at home at the age of 31 my husband is married with 3 kids and has lived with me for 6 years but he gets less respect than his younger brother, and now the pattern is following on with my kids, his mother has my eldest round her house but wont have my youngest. Sometimes parents are strange

    Same with me your story mirrors my past. It's one rule for one in my mom's eyes. The brother gets away with murder i get punished. She believes everything he says so often he'll make some story up that i have done something when i have not. My older brother is the apple of my mom's eyes he can do no wrong. Growing up i was jealous to death of him due to the way he was treat by my mom. He always got the best of the best while i had nothing. Now as an adult my mom still favors him over me even though he's a convicted killer, killed an old dude for no reason she still worships loves & idolises him & i just don't understand why. Yes unfortunatly sweety this seems to be a normal thing for families these days. I'm sorry your going through this,I know how you feel
