Not to scare you but sleep paralysis is commonly reported by most people before being abducted by aliens.

its totally normal though not THAT common. a lot of people have experienced it, though not repeatedly. its literally that your nervous system is active, and processing information (you can think; dream) but afferent & efferent pathways are inactive, meaning that the nerves in your body carrying information to and from your brain are temporarily off. So you can't move, speak, open your eyes, etc.

I've had it once and it sureeeee was terrifying. Are you uncharacteristically stressed?

sleep paralysis when it happens just focus on moving one finger when u can the paralysis breaks and u are normal again the body is naturally paralysed during sleep to prevent the body from acting out dreams when it don't you sleep walk or do day to day things eyes open seeing and hearing yet still being asleep dun worry about it its normal a lot if ppl do it from time to time

I've had it and I thought I'd had a stroke. I couldn't move my arm more than an inch or move my head at all. The part of the brain which suppresses our muscle movements during sleep (to stop us sleepwalking) had just gone a bit awry.

Oh and it's also sometimes the result of an overactive mind then you go into sleep, like your mind is half way between sleeping and waking and the result is feeling like that, here's what I do, I try to stop panicking when it happens, and acknowledge I'm in sleep paraylysis, then slowly count to 10 ignoring anything you feel or hear saying to yourself, it's not real, stay calm and count and you'll come out of it.

It's also said to be a paranormal occurance, but it's bullshit!! It's called sleep paralysis, I get it too, and it's usually due to irregular or changed sleep patterns and habits, mine usually happens when I sleep or snooze on my back, and when I nap during the day, it can be really scary but I can assure you no harm is coming to you, it's really common!!

  • Yes I have had the same experience. Let me guess you cant even talk when it happens? I have had this and quite a few others here have had it too but dont worry it cant seriously harm you.
