Is it normal that my boyfriend treats me like shit when i'm drunk

Is it normal that my bf treats me like shit when I'm drunk? He'll be totally mean and hateful to me but otherwise he is loving and caring. He hates it when I'm drunk apparently because I get all "friendly" and sloppy especially in public. Why would he treat me like shit when I'm drunk only??

Because you are an annoying drunk and it embarrasses him...and rightfully so! You should quit whining about how he treats you like shit when you are acting like a fool and instead wonder why you can't stop being a drunk for an otherwise loving boyfriend.

NO! it is absolutely not normal or acceptable at all. If your boyfriend thinks that you are behaving badly when you are drunk he should talk about it with you when you are sober. and support you in thinking of ways to improve your behaviour when you drink. It is not acceptable for him to treat you like shit at any time. ever.
maybe he thinks that he can get away with it when you are drunk because you don't remember? Or maybe he is drunk at the same time? neither of those things excuse his behaviour. if he is regularly and without explanation treating you like shit, dump him.
You have as much right (you're an adult, i assume) to drink as any man does. It is not your job to quit drinking or change yourself to make him happy. BUT do YOU think your behaviour when you drink is appropriate? if not maybe it is worth reconsidering it or thinking about the amounts that you drink. For you, not for him. And it would not excuse his behaviour either way.

if your behavior when you are drunk upsets him, maybe you should make an effort to quit drinking.

She should make an effort to wuit drinking because his piece of shit feelings are hurt? How about she can drink whatever she wants without him around and he can fuck off because you're too much of an asshole to handle someone having fun.

You should smash down a bottle of vodka, smash your bf in the face, then smash off in front of the camera on the Internet.

I typed this question in Google and this is where it took me. My BF does the same thing. let me say I am NOT a heavy drinker at all. I drink maybe 1 to 2 times every few months but when I do...oh man. It never fails to turn out badly. Meaning, he is hateful and mean to me when he drinks. He starts arguments with me, puts me down...you name it he has said it. When we are not drinking he is totally fine. What is funny is, I am a very happy drinker. I am not loud or obnoxious and am friendly to all people as I am when I am not drinking. Can someone tell me where this comes from? And not in an ignorant comment calling names and being immature.

That is not always the case. Some people are just assholes to others while they are drinking because they have a problem with it. It can go much deeper than what is on the surface.

Maybe your a bitch when you drink. Or more than likely he doesn't trust you and feels like you don't give a shit about him when your drunk.

I have the same problem with this BITCH (j/k) I'm currently fucking. She gets all spazzed and hyper after popping Loratabs (pills) and just won't STFU and It's very irritating. So sometimes I'll have to put the foot down because it would push me over the edge otherwise. I certainly understand his misery. YOU need to lay off of the beer or break up OR he needs to put you in your place.

My hubby gets exasperated when I get drunk, but he's never been mean about it. He just makes it clear that he doesn't want my drinking to become a habit, so I compromise and save it for special occasions or parties.

I don't blame your guy though, when your mate is drunk they become obnoxious and aren't the same person you fell in love with. It can be hard to be affectionate to someone that looks like your lover but acts like a stranger.

I don't agree with this. Your lover should not treat you badly EVER! Even when you are drinking. People get silly and act all kinds of crazy when they are drunk. If they are a terrible person while drinking then I say move on. Don't be mean just let them go because obviously you don't love them fully if you can't accept them when they are having a little fun. No one is perfect but there is no excuse for treating your GF or BF like shit. Drunk or not.

You sound like it's a normal thing to be drunk with your boyfriend. If this has happened on several occasions, then my advice would be to stop getting drunk when your boyfriend is still sober. Bitch.

How does this sound like a "normal thing"..lol. She didn't say she was a raging alcoholic. And to call someone a bitch? Yea, I would say your opinion on this does not matter since you can't even respect a total stranger who is only asking for advice.

then again, i can't say anything. the guy i'm dating is absolutely impressed with my ability to handle liquor.

still, he shouldn't be harping on you so much. maybe you guys should try drinking together more often to build up your tolerance. he shouldn't be mean and hateful to you, in any case!

Get him drunk and treat him like shit see how he likes it. I know when my gf is drunk I just talk really dirty to her and sometimes I call her a slut but she and I know she isn't but I do it for fun cause I can always do anything to her and she'll love it when she's drunk ;)

This is very normal. I once had a girlfriend who was great in all areas except being drunk. She started showing charecteristics that were not the girl I liked. It raises questions in a guys mind like 'is this what she's really like?', ''what else is she capable of becoming?' and 'will she change this drastically if we were too marry'. You could argue that it's just you, but maybe analyse how you change when your drunk and try to discover if you like those changes yourself
