Is it normal that my boyfriend tells me to laugh more at movies

My boyfriend tells me that I don't laugh out loud enough when we watch a funny movie. I find things funny.. I just don't laugh out loud like he does when I do. I smile or quietly chuckle. It seems to really bother him that I don't show amusement as openly as he does and he wishes that I would.
Is he being controlling when telling me this? I'm not sure how to take this. He brings this up a lot. It is starting to get on my nerves, but if I say anything, he'll probably think I am being overly sensitive.

    He's being controlling.

    There is NOTHING wrong with how you show amusement. The problem is, he trying to mold you into what he wants rather than accept you for who you are. Don't give in to it. Believe me, if you force yourself to laugh, he'll only nitpick at something else for you to change, making you feel ugly and flawed when you're not.

    What you can do is when he starts picking at you, be assertive. Cut off the tv, turn to him, smile and calmly say, "This is how I laugh, sweetie. It may not be what you want or expect, but my laugh isn't about you. It doesn't need your approval to be a real luagh, so please, for me, stop bringing it up." You don't have to say this example the same way, but you get it. If he turns it into an argument, calls you sensitive, or just don't understand, then he's not the guy for you or anyone.

    He probably thinks that you share a different sense of humour. It is controlling but not by much. He should just accept that you are laughing.
