Is it normal that my boyfriend takes nothing serious?

I have been in a committed relationship with my boyfriend for almost three years now, and the last two months he's been acting strange. Everything I say to him is either a joke or a quote from a movie as a response. I feel like I cannot say anything serious or meaningful, it seems to get me nowhere. He's been distant as well, he won't ever tell me whats on his mind. And the only time he is intimate or loving is during sex, and even then I feel like he's somewhere else. I really hope I'm not losing him, I'm very in love with this man. Does anyone have any advice for me on why he's acting this way?

    Under 22? I say is he under 30. If he's under 30 this is normal.

    Regardless of age it's a man thing I'm sure. Mines 34 and acts 12 somedays

    Hes doomed, he's obviously realised that life is ultimately pointless so hes just going to laugh at everything until he dies. The only true test of this is to have sex with one of his friends and see if he has a movie quote for that

    He is 25yrs old and im 22. I understand that it's normal to joke and pay around, but it's a constant thing with him. He's been this way for a few months now. another thing that has been getting to me is that he can't seem to keep an erection during intercourse. He used to want it everyday and now I'm lucky if its every other week. Does this have anything to do with him not taking anything serious?
    I've tried to talk things over with him, it will either lead to a fight or something way off subject and most of all something joking.

    I think that being serious is wayyyyyyy over rated. It's fun to be joking around most of the time. Of course there are certain times when serious is required but those should be few and far between.

    How old is he? if hes under 22 then that's the reason. realize that our brains are changing as teenagers, and were thinking things in new ways. both of you are. This could lead to growing more together or further apart. does he need to take things seriously? maybe you should relax. does it annoy that he never talks about something real or personal? if so then tell him.
