Is it normal that my boyfriend of did not get anything for me for vday
I know Valentine's day is a quote-on-quote "stupid, materialistic commercial holiday", but this year my bf did not get me anything. We both had a midterm on Thursday (I had the same one plus another), so I told him we should post pone whatever till Friday. I still got him a little teddy and chocolates, but I kinda felt bad about not getting more.
Well Friday came, and he stayed late at work. When he finally came back, I asked where we were going. He said IDK, because he didn't have a car. I am used to the no car deal, but he has a service that he can rent a car for like 5$ per hour which he usually uses. The thing is you usually have to reserve them in advance, and he did not. He suggested Moe's, which for you that are familiar, is a fast food burrito place. I started holding back my tears. I was just so disappointed, it was silly of me, but in the back of my mind I was expected something, a card even, but it really did not seem like he wanted to do anything for me. I guess why it made me feel so bad was because he went alllll out last year. He got me a bear, chocolates, made me a candle-light dinner, got me a bracelet, we had a picnic, martineli's, and he even sprinkled rose petals on the stairway. I was not expecting anything remotely as nice as that seeing we just had a test, but I sure wasn't expecting nothing on top of his demeanor. When he asked me what was wrong, I told him and he said "Oh well, IDK, its just Valentine's.." To top it off, it was too late when we arrived at the restaurant and it closed, so we ate chinese. Is it normal for a boyfriend of 1 year 4 months to not care about Valentine's day like he did before?
