Is it normal that my boyfriend has a whispering/"asmr" fetish?

My boyfriend can't fall asleep unless he's listening to something called "ASMR" videos. It's basically like people making weird noises or somebody smacking their lips in a microphone for an hour, I can't stand it. He claims it relaxes him and helps him sleep and that the videos don't turn him on, but when I whisper in his ears or kiss his ears that does.
I don't know I think it's strange, he's a huge muscular guy who honestly gets too cocky sometimes, but can't sleep without a video of some random dude mixing a tub of rocks, or some gay guy whispering some weird roleplay, in his ears.

    There is nothing sexual about ASMR; it's simply about relaxation.

    Many people like ASMR, it doesen't make him a weirdo. It's just relaxing for those people and not the same as a fetish. I thought it was kind of cute that a "huge muscular guy" would be so sensitive. And if he uses it to fall asleep it's clearly not turning him on, because falling asleep when you're horny is hard, believe me.

    If you hate it so much you should talk to him about it, but try to understand him and don't go implying it's sexual. That'll just make him feel bad for no reason.

    Hey, so I’m a girl but I think I can offer some perspective. Basically asmr is something that not everyone experiences but it’s basically just relaxing sounds, and it’s usually not sexual. I think you should be a little more open minded and stop thinking about it as a fetish. It’s just certain sounds that can calm people.

    I am a guy who enjoy ASMR. I sometimes listen to it in order to help me relax and fall asleep. Although some of the people in those videos could be perceived as sexual, it's really not a sexual thing... at least for me. It is just very relaxing.

    On the flip side, I could see how if a woman who I am attracted to did some of those things around me like whispering in my ear or kissing certain spots or playing with my hair, it could be a turn on. I really think it's normal.
