Is it normal that my boyfriend gave my christmas present to his mom?

My boyfriend and I will not be in the same place this year for Christmas. Anyway, he is really mad at me for it and instead of mailing my present to me like I was going to do for him, he announced last night that he gave it to his mother instead because I won't be there. He said that she was so surprised and happy she received an early Christmas present. I'm really hurt and can't understand why he would do this. Is this a normal behavior...is he trying to prove a point or what?

He's just way too attached to you if he gets that mad when you're gone. He'll apologize if he really likes you and you tell him that you're hurt. And if he doesn't, then he's a douchebag anyways.

It's normal... if he's about to break up with you.

Your boyfriend sounds like an asshole. Just because he can not always get his way he is throwing a fit. He sounds like a child who is mad because he did not get his toy. Do not put up with his nonsense. You should break it off and date a real man. That is very rude and inconsiderate. I am sure you do not want to be dating a 4 year in a mans body. It is normal to act like this when you are a little kid. Not at this age. If you continue to stay with him he is going to keep behaving this way. So if you can not skip work for his birthday he is going to break something in the house and say "Thats what you deserve"!

        • Haha, I'm 23 and he's 25, so you're right...old enough to not act like a child anymore.

Sounds pretty immature, but the fact that he was upset that you weren't there shows that he really misses you and wanted you there. If he didn't care about you, he wouldn't have cared whether you were there or not and maybe would have just sent something to you to please you. It's weird logic, I know. But from a man's standpoint it can definitely make sense according to the situation.
