Is it normal that my boyfriend doesn't want to spend the night

We are both 19 and in college.

He lives 45 minutes away from me and when he visits I ask him to spend the night and he says he doesn't feel "comfortable" spending the night.

He says he doesn't want to leave his mom alone, and if an earthquake or something happens he's 2 hours away (he has to take the bus, neither of us have cars) and he wouldn't be able to reach her easily.

I think this is a little extreme. Or is he just being a typical mama's boy?

It's normal, He's just being a mama's boy 11
The mom thing is an excuse, he just doesn't like you that much 12
He's way too close with his mom, that's weird 7

If he's not comfortable with it, let him be. One day he may be ready.

Had a BF who were a typical lazy Moma's boy. i finally got fed up with it and dumped him and found myself a real, proper male.

I do suggest you tell him to shape up and show you that he wants to be with you, if he can't do this you are better off alone.

  • A typical mama's boy is either gay or a serial killer, so it's probably related.

Check under his bed and you'll either find heaps of gay porn or severed heads, then react accordingly.

  • No wonder he thinks that you're far apart. He has to make a decision. Either he stays over and the relationship continues or he insists on going home which will end in you eventually breaking up.
