Is it normal that my boyfriend cares more than my family does?

Ever since my boyfriend and I have been together, it's been great. He treats me how a girl should get treated. But sometimes I wonder if he babies me or if he just really cares. My family is never there for me and never has been, so sometimes I wonder if he's only there cause he feels sorry for me. Is it normal to feel this way? Or am I just over reacting?

    I had a boyfriend like that once. It was actually a very healing sort of experience; to be loved and accepted day after day without question, for years. It felt wrong at first, awkward. I kept expecting really bad things to happen, but they never did. Eventually I relaxed. That was the good part.

    The bad part was that it did come to an end because I changed and he did not. He preferred to be dominant in our relationship and my resisting made him crave control even more. We could not resolve the divide and ended it amicably

      Could you give me a number? Okay, I'm just kidding, really. But he does sound like a great guy, and you were very lucky. However, I myself like to be dominated, so do not think I would have dumped him if I were you. :)

    That's sweet. It reminds me of my relationship with my boyfriend, who is a lot older than me. He's kinda like the loving, doting father I never had.
