Is it normal that my boyfriend can't get off from sex anymore?

My boyfriend and I have been together for about 2 years now. He's 26 and I'm 24. We have an awesome apartment, 2 awesome cats and generally speaking, an awesome relationship.

Well, about 2 1/2 months ago, he got fired from his job. We've been struggling financially, but we're making it. Now he took quite a blow to his ego when this happened, as he's always been a provider. He doesn't talk about it much, but I know he's under a lot of stress.

So here's the problem. Ever since he got fired, he can no longer "come" while having sex with me. Of course he says it has nothing to do with me, that he's just thinking too much but it's really killing my self esteem. What kind of girl can't get her boyfriend off? I know he's under a lot of stress and that I shouldn't take it personally, but I feel like there's something wrong with me. Is it normal for me to feel this way?

    It's normal that it's hurting you that you can't get him off. But I guess stress can really effect a guy from even getting horny sometimes. It sucks, but some guys are like that.

    Dont worry babe..he may be in the stress of losing his job. What u need to do is give him time to relax n settle down, and most of all give him ur love and complete support.

    It sounds like you are both under pressure. Even though we are supposedly living in an equal society, men still cast themself in the role of provider and protector. His inability to do that at the moment is emasculating him. Worse, apart from not being able to take on the "male" role, he's not even able to get pleasure from sex with his partner. I'd say his life is pretty torturous at the moment and he needs your support more than at any other time.

    Not that it makes it alright that you are getting hurt by it, but until his stress is relieved it will remain so
