Is it normal that my boyfriend and i eat off the same plate?

It's not all the time, but usually, when we make food at home, my boyfriend and I will use separate forks/spoons, but we use the same plate or bowl. Sometimes it's because our dishes are dirty, but sometimes it's just genuine force of habit. Is this normal?

      Maybe they use a loveseat? I personally prefer separate plates though.

    That's a good idea to save on dishes. My bf and I have separate plates but he usually doesn't eat all of his food so I finish it off
