I will ask my boyfriend simple questions, and he always wants a reason why I am asking. I ask him if he works tomorrow, he asks why. I ask what kind of cereal he likes, he asks why. I can ask anything but he always seems to want an answer with why I am asking. Is it normal that he always questions me?
Because he wants to know why you're asking? I don't see the harm in that.
As dappled said, that is just the way a mans mind works.
If somebody asks me if I work tomorrow my mind says "there must be something going on tomorrow, I wonder what it is"
If somebody asks me what kind of cereal that I like, my mind goes "they are going grocery shopping and we should find a cereal that we both like"

But OP I kinda am the same I'm curious and want to know why. I don't ask all the time of course because I normally don't care but it never hurts to wonder. I don't see any problem to wonder why that person is asking whatever question.
True. Sometimes it's a good thing to know the reason why the question is being asked to provide the best answer. And if there's no reason for asking, bitch be talkin just to talk.
My girl will do that. And I do ask why. Particularly the work one. I just need to gauge whether what she is planning is more important than what I have planned for my very rare day off. I don't think there is harm in that.
That's the way men's minds work. I talk differently to women than I do to men but I didn't always. I had to learn it. Not every man does (or even thinks it'd be useful).
Not all questions deserve a why response but I would agree some would. I would be asking if he trust you
In some cases, like asking what his favourite cereal is, the reason you're asking might affect his answer. His favourite cereal might be Froot Loops, for instance, but maybe he's got a stomach ache, so if you're getting some today, he'd like something different. Other times, it sounds like he's just curious.

Maybe the tone!? There's a big difference between asking and interrogating. And it seems that your asking too much to the point that you annoy him.
I always want a reason. You have no right to ask me interpersonal questions without justifying said question.
I don't see whats wrong with him asking but i wouldn't understand why he would ask why to questions like that
I used to know someone like this. I think he just asked why to try to keep the conversation going...
So the simple act of asking questions is a reason to be dumped? Not very good advice.
well he sounds rude and suspicous from how it is put , depends how asked . If he is saying why ? why do you care and does not want to awnser anything than he does not sound like he likes her . asking why is not the piont its refusing to awnser anything is kind of rude and shows he does not trust her .

That is the dumbest thing I've read all day. The ultimate answer for every relationship is to dump someone in your opinion. How sad.
