You mean during a session rather than at a time, right? I read the title of this and thought your boyfriend was an octopus.
But in seriousness, alcoholism is about dependency. If he can't do without it, or the quantity or frequency of his drinking is starting to increase then, yes, it's worth being concerned about.
8 beers? Not bad at all. As long as he doesn't hit the hard liquor. That sounds like a little self medicating to deal with everyday crap.
By definition he's a binge drinker, not an alcoholic. And that's not really bad, I know people who get drunk every day and don't have any real alcohol dependancy. (Not saying it's good to get drunk every day, but 3 days a week still isn't bad)
It's not healthy, but neither is fast food or high fructose corn syrup.
That probably seems like a lot of beers to you, but to a beer drinker that's honestly nothing. Just a mild drinky night.
“There is no better way of life in the world than that of the Australian. I firmly believe this. The grumbling, growling, cursing, profane, laughing, beer drinking, abusive, loyal-to-his-mates Australian is one of the few free men left on this earth. He fears no one, crawls to no one, bludges on no one, and acknowledges no master. Learn his way. Learn his language. Get yourself accepted as one of him; and you will enter a world that you never dreamed existed. And once you have entered it, you will never leave it.”

Beer is nothing but nasty tasting water in a can or bottle. True alcoholics drink jet fuel. 80 proof and above is the real deal.
hes not an alcoholic just likes to drink :) and most beers aren't that strong anyway
