Is it normal that my best friends ex has feelings for me?

Well, they broke up and he confessed to me that it was really me he liked. I knew he liked me before they started dating, but while they were going out he started getting more and more comfortable calling me. I didn't think anything of it, but then he cut everyone off that reminded him of her, but me. Then he finally flat out told me he has feelings for me even though it could never be, but now he calls me and texts me all the time. Is this normal? Am I a bad friend to my best friend for staying friends with him?

    Well if he just told you he has feelings for you, like randomly said "to be honest, I actually like(d) you" and just uncomfortably laughs or whatever, it's not a big deal.

    I was in the same situation before, and my friendship with him was solid, as was my friendship with my female friend.

    I don't see that you're doing anything wrong.

    No he doesn't try to get with me it's just friendly conversation.

    He could either be doing it to make her jealous, he's on the rebound, OR it could be because you and your friend have such different personalities, and since they weren't working out, he realized that you were more his type. These are all possibilities.

    On one hand I could say, of course it's okay to stay friends with him! If he isn't being malicious or spiteful, then he's just expressing his feelings and it's understandable.

    However, whatever his intentions are, good or bad, your friend probably will be extremely upset depending on how she felt about him. So you have to think about his motives and the importance of your friendship with your best friend.

    You should know the answer. And what kind of idiot tries to hit on his ex's best friend right after a break up. I know FAKE FRIENDS humor this and sometimes go further...

    It is normal...he likes you. Normally when people like somebody they try to get close to them, and talk to them all the time. No your not a bad friend. I fell in love with my friends ex, he was my best friend and talked all the time...things happen. Your not a bad person for staying friends with him. They can both be your friend.
