Is it normal that my best friend's boyfriend calls me beautiful/fit?

My best friend had made me talk to her school mate on the phone. We generally spoke and I was being nice because he was in hospital and was very ill. Then she got together with him, so now they are going out. He wanted to see a picture of me so she sent him one. She then gave him my number and and he used to send general texts like asking me how I was and what I was doing. Now he calls me and we speak for ages on the phone and he didn't He wanted another picture of me and my sister sent him one. On the phone he said that "you look beautiful and cute, pure fitness". Today he told me to delete our chat history so my friend would see it and told me to tell her that i didn't speak to him. I think he likes me. I want to tell her how he is acting but don't know what to say or how to say it as I don't want to hurt her feelings. Is it normal for him to act this way?

    Why grass him up and make him hate you? Why not try being an adult and tell him you think it's inappropriate?

      I tried to explain it to him and say that its not right but he said he likes me and the way he feels for me is not the same way he feels about my best mate.

    I think people are missing the fact that this is perfectly normal behaviour for immature school kids in favour of criticizing the people involved. But yea, he wants to give you the business. Now make a choice between him or your friend.

    No more talking to this guy!!! The first part was okay, the last part was a big red light! I would tell your friend, so that when she find out later she won't be mad at you. I'd down play it at first, tell her that you were having innocent conversation, then he said you were pretty, that made you a little wary, but then he told you not to tell her, and as her friend, you felt the need to inform her what he was up to. Don't be tempted by him.(If that's the case) If he's willing to do this to your friend, he's also willing to do to it to you.

    When he cheats on you with the next pretty little thing that walks along, you'll be out a boyfriend and a best mate.

      How should I say it to her, because she already thinks I like him but I don't. I don't want her getting sad over it as she just got with him about 1 week ago.
