Is it normal that "music-lovers" annoy me?

The "music lovers" i am referring to are the ones that basically finger themselves to the beatles everyday(i love the beatles btw, but not that much really) and wish for the death of modern music such as JB, 1D and nicki minaj.

And they swear by their name that music such as dubstep and rap are not music.

Ironically, majority of these "music lovers" are of my age or younger. How the hell are you gonna bash something of your own generation? Technically, because the "Old" music such as the beatles are waay before you were born, its technically as new to you as kesha's new release.

What irritates me is that they think they are the god of music or some shit. And they say they are open or listen to all music.

To me, i think they are ignorant. Majority dont even listen to artists like JB but already have an opinion.

They are as ignorant as someone who just listens to modern music and hates old music.

I think to be a "true" music lover, you have to like the old and the new. You have to except that music is evolving.
Not to sound conceited, but im basically the only person i know who listens to both old and new music and appreciate them equally.

There is meaningful and personal music out there. Those people who swear there's only shit music now need to stop living in a rock.

        What about fists and jism?

The use of 'fist', is acceptable, as the etymological root is from: Middle English, from Old English fȳst; akin to Old High German fūst fist, Polish pięść, and probably to Old English fīf five.

There are many words like this.

The use of 'jism', is not usually acceptable, as this is deemed to be vulgar. Such slang terms, should be avoided, except with extreme discretion and / or in the context of, or practice of humour, where appropriate.

Only the suffixes, '-ist' or 'ism', derived from the Hellenic (Greek) etymological roots, 'istēs' or 'ismos', apply. (This also applies to other language forms, such as '-ista').

When in doubt, please look up the etymological root.

Yes, and I mostly agree with you. As I've learned more about music I definitely do learn to appreciate music from all times and genres. Not that I like Nicki Minaj or Justin Bieber. I think their music sucks. But I do respect the work that went into it, the talented session musicians who created the music, and the arranger.

I don't discriminate all new music as shit, I call shit music as shit. There are many new bands I really love, most mainstream music however is complete bullocks and feels like it "music" for people who don't really enjoy music. Music in the most important thing in my life, higher then food or sex. I love all types of music, the people u speak of. Sound like hipsters, no one likes hipsters

I like Pink Floyd, Johnny Cash and king Crimson as well as things like Alt-j, Radiohead and the Antlers but that doesn't make me a "true" music fan. Being a true music fan haa nothing to with the age of the music you are listening to. If there is even such a thing as a True music fan then its about Feeling the music regardless of age or genre

Hmm, I agree with some of this and disagree with other bits. I know who you're talking about, and they are annoying. I always roll my eyes when they say that "music has died" blah blah blah, shut up! Yes, I dislike it very much. Like they're experts or something? Ugh. And yeah, people should accept that music is always changing. I see it as a good thing. You can always revisit the stuff you liked, but then new, different stuff is being made on top of that. I wouldn't wish the "death" of any of it or whatever, and deny someone's happiness just because of my preferences. It's stupid to want that, in my opinion.

Although, if music is evolving, then in my mind, there are different stages, and I think it's only fair that people would prefer certain stages, or genres. If I like old music, it isn't because it's old, but just because music I liked was being made before I was made:P. I don't think music should be disregarded just because of how old it is. Some things are classics, so to speak, and despite being made decades ago, really don't *feel* old to me. And yeah, I agree that rap and dubstep are music. Those can be fantastic music, too, if you listen to the right artists.

But I guess it's all preference. I have a particular love for 60-90s music. But then again, I have heard little from before the 60s, so I'll probably love that too, when I get around to exploring it. I think it's the same for modern music. The deeper you go, the more great stuff you find. And lots of bands I like are still making music I like now, so it's not exactly clear cut.

I should clarify that I do actually like some new music, as well as "old" stuff. However, I refuse to listen to "JB" just so that I can claim that I love music and for it to be "true". Unless by JB you mean Jeff Buckley, in which case, I'd be happy to get on board with that:P! Or the Jungle Brothers? Yes to that too:D! Not Justin Bieber, though.

To be honest, I think the three musicians you listed *are* pretty crap. I don't mind what people listen to, but I'm not going to call their music good, because I don't really think it is. However, there is good music being made today, which I love, by actual artists.

To me, a music lover is someone who loves music. It's as simple as that. I don't think it matters what genre really. To love music is a feeling, not a certain playlist. However, I do believe in good and bad taste. I will admit, though, I do sort of judge those who only like one genre. I don't understand why anyone would limit themselves like that. Even if they genuinely only like one, why? I don't get it, and I prefer people who listen to an array of music as well.:)

No. I don't disrespect him either, though, if that makes sense. I'm just sort of indifferent. I mean, I just can't see any traits that I'd admire in him. I don't think he's worthy of much respect. Again, though, I don't think he's worthy of major disrespect.

Please do not use -ists and -isms.

In the first instance (of your otherwise very well written commentary), you could have easily reworded this to become more meaningful and insightful, and at the same time told the reader more about your musical interests.
" Those can be fantastic music, too, if you listen to [blank and blank], for instance."
If you insert the names of your favourite rap and dubstep musicians, then the reader, might be inclined to research these musicians or groups, or to ask you about them, or to have an affinity with you.

In the second instance, "by actual artists" is not particularly necessary, and could have been deleted, or the word "artists", could have been substituted with
      'musicians' or 'players'.

Yak-O: An anagrammatic, hyphenated, backwards formation, double variant, interjectory term meaning,1) an emotive and humourous talkative person
          2) a person who talks emotively, in a humourous sense.

          You heard it here first.

This can be used as a gentle reminder, not to use the Old Dreadful (Oll Korrect, Old Kinderhook) word, or it's abbreviated form.

You could have said, instead, "Thank you, I'll take it into consideration ", thus being in accordance with Rule #10.

  • I don't like JB, Kesha, etc. But I won't say they're not real music or that all modern music is bad. I don't understand why people say something's not music. Music is music whether or not you like it. That's like if someone said George Carlin isn't a comedian just because (s)he doesn't find him funny. It's stupid.

Although I share some of your musical interests, I find your style for conveying your message, most atrocious.

First off, I agree with you, in that I find "music lovers" [please note the absence of the hyphen] distasteful. This phrase is a misnomer. It is impossible to to be a "music lover", unless you are some sort of pervert, think about it. It is possible to 'love music', or better still, 'to make love while listening to music'. 'Audiophile', is a much better alternative term.

Please use capitalization for proper names, including musical groups such as, "The Beatles", unless the group uses a nonstandard form. Please also be wary of the definite article, "the", as this is actually often not part of a group's name.

    Archaic.
Please do not use the archaic term referring to a fictitious
    nether world.
Why are you introducing archaic religious concepts, where they do not belong?

If you insist on using the phrase "god of music", or similar, then this should be put into single quotations, if indirectly quoted, or double quotations, if it is a direct quote.

Please do not use -ists or -isms.
The "art***s", in this case, could have been substituted with 'musicians'.

You are patently incorrect, in your assertions.

No, you can not do, 'whatever you want'. There are many people in this world, who will agree with me. We all live within certain acceptable boundaries and limitations. Should an individual overstep these bounds and limits, then the individual could be held liable and culpable for their actions, with various repercussions.

There are, actually, people in this world, who do have a solicitude for the type of behaviour that you exhibit.
Apparantly, you are not one of these persons. In other words, you are an unconcerned bonehead.

Do we really need to be continuously reminded of a defunct political ideology, from clodpolls like you?

To the exalted grand magnificent apparatchik of neoclassic filmdom:

I offer my sincerest apology for the malefaction of typographic lapse of and in reputation.

I entreat despondently, that this will have no result on banishment to a gulag.

In addenda to this, I would like to take this opportunity to hearken that the apparatus of your regime is broken, and that the continued reiterative of dullness, on your part, is tiresome.
Perhaps, there is a cliff-hanger, or another melodramatic epic that you would like to share with the world?

In excursus, a moving picture on the plight of the Raphinae might be in the works.
