Is it normal that mines all smooth and his is all bumpy?

Well, tonight for the first time I randomly stroked the upper inside of my boyfriends mouth, it was all ridged and bumpy, then he felt mine and mine is pretty smooth. Whats that about? Are all guys inner upper mouths bumpy?
