Is it normal that it takes my piercings forever to heal?

I love to get piercings, but I hate the healing process because it's always long and gruelling. Earlobe piercings alone take well over a year to heal enough where I can change the jewelry.

    Most parts of the body will treat piercings as an infection and try to push out the foreign object. Some may never heal.

    Consult doctor, nothing should take a year to heal.. Perhaps you are diabetic? God forbid.

      The thought's crossed my mind a couple of times, though I haven't been exhibiting any other signs of diabetes as far as I know.
