Is it normal that it annoys me when couples date just based on looks?

I don't understand why people date based on looks. I thought the whole point of dating was to find the one that's right for you. So, why would you wanna be miserable? And i'm not asking this because I'm insecure about my looks or anything like that. It just really annoys me. IIN?

    Well they probably date this nice looking person and then get to know if they are just as good inside, hence why they're dating.

    Why does something that has nothing to do with you annoy you? If someone wants to date based on looks that’s on them; everyone handles relationships differently.

    To an extent, there has to be SOME sort of physical attraction that would make you want to get to know a person more.Whether that be looks, or the way the person dresses, or even who they surround themselves with. Normally, most girls wouldnt walk up to the sketchy greasy looking perv, and start flirting, UNLESS they knew the person really well and knew that he wasn't a sketchy perv.

    I agree. They should find someone they acctualy have strong feelings for. Like a friend or a person you know

    Looks has always been the main trait people look for first.
    They look for looks and then if the person looks good enough then they will get to know them, they will never give the not so good looking ones a chance even though I have found that those people tend to be the nicer ones.

    My boyfriend is attractive, and I'm attractive, and we are attracted to one another but we aren't dating based on the way we look. That is generally the first thing that will catch someones eye, but to continue a relationship that isn't fitting just because they look goodwill only get you so far.

    id say the only ppl who purely date for looks r either kids in their teens or shallow ppl... u do need some attraction tho in a relationship but it shudnt b the only thing

    People date as they prefer and I don't get enraged about it. I think it is stupid to date according to looks only, and then be miserable, but it's their choice. And then there are some nice beautiful people out there.
