Maybe you should talk to your ex, if the relationship is worth saving. Your best friend betrayed you but don't worry, she's gonna get it back in spades. You should just wash your hands of this whole situation. Forgive yourself for having the feelings that you do because they're perfectly normal, forgive your best friend for being a sleuth and accept that this type of situation happens to so many people and those people eventually heal.

Tell your ex what when on between you and your friend, then listen to what he has to say about it. It may not be what you want to hear, but at least you tried to do something about it.
That is really messed up of your best friend to do. They don't seem like a real friend. As long as you're happy I don't see what the problem with dating him was. It's normal to want him back because you didn't really break up on bad terms and you never really lost the emotional connection you had with him.
