Is it normal that im not that mom...

Today a nurse saw a newspaper near my 9month old and freaked, oh, "everybody touches that" i told, "you just touched it and then touched my baby, how dirty are you?" people freak over germs that are extremely unlikely to have any effect whatsoever. Idk im just not that germ-aphobe mom, IIN?

Every single comment before mine is SPOT ON!!! You seem intelligent, so if your common sense and maternal instinct are telling you something is not good for baby, then there is a safe bet all will be okay. ;) gosh that nurse is nuts!!! Acting as if there is some crazy mutant viral epidemic among us!!! She should have told you to sit tight at home permanently with baby, in a confined room wearing biohazard suits!!!

Sounds like me. And seriously, my kid is almost 3 now--would I even have a chance of keeping his mouth and hands off of everything? Nope lol. Stressing about it would likely only lower my OWN immunity system :)

Hey I believe your a great mom because you are choosing to focus your time and enegry on things that do matter and not pointless things like germs on newspapers!

The more babies and kids touch things, the stronger their immune systems gets. The more they play outside and get exposed to whatever is foreign to their bodies, the smaller the risk of them developing allergies. Google it if you're not convinced.

Don't listen to that nurse, you're a good mom.

I'm like you. My kids are adults now but I never worried about such things. They are both very healthy. You can't live in a sterile enviroment. Your body will never know how to fight off germs. People just freak out way too much. The only thing I worry about a little bit is raw chicken juices. Everyday germs, why get your panties in a bunch.
