If everyone died and I was the sole survivor, I wouldn't care. I'd be sad over those closest to me but everyone else? Tough luck/sucks to be them. It'd probably be best anyway if it were just me or my family and I (Particularly my mom, siblings, and nieces). IIN?
Stuff like this is easy to say when you know it's not going to happen. I'm not referring to the people dying, they're strangers to you, people you do not know, so perhaps it's alright to not cry over people you never knew. However, the reality of the situation is what will get to you. When you're the only person alive, that's when it's going to suck. Even if it's just you and your family, the situation will still be horrible.
This planet would be extremely thankful if that happened. We are but a sickness upon her surface with the love of the almighty dollar for exceeding our love for each other and our big blue marble.
I would say so. Sometimes around four in the morning I like to go outside and walk around because nobody is out and like the feeling of being the last person on Earth.
When I was younger I had thoughts of not being opposed to the majority of humans dying, at least if it were in a way in which it was just so far away from me that it was just a number of people not being on the planet anymore.
As for thoughts of being the sole survivor and everyone else having died, I would be devastated in that situation. If the majority of people in my country died suddenly, that might be devastating to me as well.
In my eyes, it wouldn't suck for the people who died it would suck to be left behind.
And how things such as all the dead bodies around you, the maintenance of power stations - both the lack of electricity that would result and the proper shutdown of them (including nuclear power plants) - not to mention learning to hunt and gather in your area?
