Is it normal that i worry about her

We been low-key together for about a year now. Before that we were really good friends. Up to a few months ago I moved a good hundred miles away due to certain circumstances. We still stay in touch, but what worries me is that sometimes it feels like she doesnt have interest in me anymore.
Before i moved, we ussually spent our times together. Made sure she didnt get into trouble and that nobody messed with her. But this distance is making me feel like i lost all control of this. Even if she doesnt have feelings for me anymore, is it normal for me to want to protect her.?
