Is it normal that i wish the gay community didn't do this?

I wish that the gay community hadn't taken rainbows. There, I've said it. I'm not gay, but I still love rainbows and pictures and such with bright, vivid colors. But, if I wore a rainbow out in public, people would think I was gay. I don't think it's fair.

Am I alone in this way of thinking? Why should I be pegged as being a certain way for wearing a medley of my favorite colors? It's not like I'm in a gang or anything. I just want to be able to wear whatever I want again. Is it wrong?

By the way, I don't mean any harm or hostility toward the gay community. I just think rainbows should be for everyone.

    wear the rainbows anyway. bright colors make people feel better. and keep you from getting hit by cars. i try to wear all seven colors when possible, because they correspond with the seven major chakras in the human body. people thought i was gay before i wore rainbows, and they still do now that i wear rainbows. gay men will always know you aren't gay though. but the girl you like, she'll think your gay and won't be convinced otherwise for months, and then when she finally believes you she'll act like you betrayed her trust. i'm not passive aggressive.

      Tell them you're trying to find balance in your life by wearing the chakras. Seem enlightened rather than gay.

      I'm not really the type to assume anyone's sexuality before they tell me so themselves though, but I've been pretty involved in the LGBT community.

    I agree. I had a gf back in 1999 and I had no idea she would tag our luggage when we went on trips with rainbows as a sign of solidarity for gay rights. I guess I am completely clueless, because to this day I don't even know of one reference in the media that rainbows = gay.

    Yeah, that's what I mean. I do support finding a cure for breast cancer though.
